POSH FROCKS CHARITY EVENTS

Welcome!

Posh Frocks Charity Dinner takes place in the autumn of each year to raise money for local and national good causes. It is run primarily by Kim Gilmour, who has been involved in the organisation of these fundraising dinners for over 20 years. To date around £36,000 has been raised from the raffle sales and match funding from corporate sponsors.

This Year’s Event

Taking place on Friday 11th October at Hadley Park House Hotel, this year we are supporting Midlands Air Ambulance Charity which provides lifesaving intervention and emergency medical services via helicopter-led and critical cars across six Midlands counties including Shropshire. With no government or lottery funding, the charity needs to raise £13-14 million each year.

Our evening begins with a drinks reception with an alcoholic or non-alcoholic punch where wine can be ordered for the table. This will be followed by a sumptuous three-course meal and tea/coffee with the bar open until 11.30 pm.

Costs continue to rise, particularly energy costs so there is a slight increase in our ticket price to £39.50 if booked and paid for before the 1st of October. Prices will be going up to £45.

This year at Posh Frocks, the amazing Jee Kay will be providing us with our entertainment. Jee teaches Bhangra Dance & Fitness and will be talking about the history of Bhangra and running a mini workshop on how to do all the moves to some great disco classics and some modern Bhangra tunes. You can join us on the dance floor, from the sidelines or just enjoy the fun from your table. It will all be very relaxed and will inject some energy and feel-good music into our evening.

History

For many years, the dinner was the highlight of the social calendar of the former Shropshire Business Women’s Society, the first female-only networking group in the county and continued by a group of volunteers to ensure that former members could get together and continue the fundraising efforts. It is an event that brings together like-minded women across Telford and Shropshire and enables everyone to enjoy good food, and good company whilst raising vital funds for good causes.

Charities Supported

Over the years many charities that support women or local causes have benefited from our fundraising events including Midlands Air Ambulance, Hope House, Red Cross, Macmillan Cancer Support, Cystic Fibrosis Trust, Severn Hospice, Alzheimer’s Research UK and Lingen Davies

How We Raise Funds

We like to keep the ticket price low so all the funds are raised from our Grand Hamper Raffle, match funding or sponsorship. We are always on the lookout for donations to make up Food, Beauty, Pampering, Wine & Chocolates, Gardening etc. hampers for our raffle. Do you have anything or know any businesses or retail outlets that might donate something we can put into a hamper?

If you want to donate anything please get in touch.

Match Funding and Sponsorship

Fortunately, We have attracted match funding from several banks and businesses over the years who have matched or partially matched funds raised on the night. Sometimes this requires the sponsor to get involved in organising the event, this can be organised with the opportunity to sell raffle tickets in advance or on the night, be involved in collecting or wrapping hampers for the Grand Prize Draw.

There are also opportunities to sponsor our Drinks Reception for £250; you could provide samples/branded merchandise as a Table Gift (around 90) or talk to me about other ways you can increase the funds we raise. We will ensure that you or your company are mentioned to maximise any visibility. Otherwise, just by donating items for the hampers, or coming along and giving generously to our raffle, you will still be supporting our event!

If you can help us with match funding or sponsorship, please get in touch.
